New Farringdon post-house and production space, Kirby Street Post, has now been opened by 1185 Films.
1185 Films says the facility has been designed for long-form and short-form projects, “whether clients need an edit suite for a week or a whole floor for six months.”
The 2,500 sq ft facility is spread over three floors, with a fibre backbone with 10 Gbps data connections at every workspace and is designed as a “‘barebones’ space where you plug in your own equipment and use it however you like, whether for offline, VFX, meetings or production offices.”
Each floor is self-contained, with four temperature-controlled multi-purpose rooms, a large break-out area for hot desking and meetings, plus a fully equipped kitchen and toilets.
“This blank canvas makes it perfect for production companies who need extra space at short notice. If you win a Netflix series and you need more space urgently, don’t waste time and money looking for premises,” said 1185’s executive producer Nick Franco. “Just rent a floor from us and extend into it straight away.”
1185 has relocated from its previous studio in Shoreditch and tripled its floorspace “to support a changing industry under pressure to deliver faster, better and cheaper.”
“With multiplying platforms and providers, there’s an insatiable demand for more content” said Nick Franco. “Everybody wants it faster and for less money, and that’s why we’re offering this flexible solution. You can rent a hot desk, a room for editing or a whole floor to run as an extension of your business, for as little or as much time as you need.”
“We’re affordable and flexible but with a five-star service,” said Nick Franco. “Kirby Street Post will be a fun, welcoming place with space, natural light and a vibe designed to help you create. You won’t be charged a huge price for a room the size of a cupboard like in Soho, and it’s a bit more laid-back than Shoreditch.”
