John Gore Studios has announced the acquisition of Deep Fusion Films.

Cardiff-based production company Deep Fusion combines “premium storytelling with ethically led, insured and legally governed AI production tools and approaches.”

Under the deal, Deep Fusion Films will join John Gore Studios’ group of labels, retaining its leadership team and creative identity while operating as a centre of excellence for ethical AI-enabled production. The company will continue to develop IP and produce their own projects, while at the same time supporting John Gore Studios’ wider slate by providing “in-house expertise, tools and workflows that enable innovation across development, production, marketing and archive-led projects.”

Founded in 2023 by Producer/Director, AI specialist, policy writer and CEO Benjamin Field alongside CCO Jamie Anderson and executive chair Andrew Keats, Deep Fusion has developed a “fully insured, consent-based and rights-cleared generative AI production pipeline.”

Deep Fusion’s work spans premium documentary, factual entertainment and scripted development, alongside experimental formats that include AI-assisted archive reimagining and new hybrid models of creation.

Alongside its production slate, Deep Fusion Films is developing a suite of filmmaker-led, proprietary tools designed to support creative teams and rights holders, while remaining fully aligned with existing production workflows and industry standards. The tools are designed to “reduce administrative burden, allowing creative professionals to focus on storytelling and craft.”

John Gore, Executive Chairman, says: “The film and television industry has always evolved through the creation of new tools, but the core of the craft has stayed the same: talent, imagination and collaboration. Deep Fusion Films understands that instinctively. They are producers first and their work shows how new technologies can open creative possibilities without replacing the human instinct and artistry that great filmmaking depends on. Bringing that mindset into the studio feels like a genuinely exciting next step for us as we look to the future.”

Hilary Strong, CEO of John Gore Studios, says: “Deep Fusion Films embraces innovation with integrity, while respecting and safeguarding heritage. Their blend of creative excellence, technical innovation and highly principled approach, aligns perfectly with our studio’s vision. Benjamin, Jamie and Andrew have built a company that is not only producing outstanding content, but is also at the forefront of setting standards for responsible industry practices. We are delighted to welcome them into the John Gore Studios family and look forward to supporting their continued growth as part of our integrated group.”

Benjamin Field, Co-Founder of Deep Fusion Films, says: “Joining John Gore Studios gives Deep Fusion the scale and support to take our work further. We set out to prove that ethical AI is not a constraint but a creative enabler. Being part of a studio that values heritage, craft and long-term thinking allows us to expand what we do, collaborate more widely, and continue developing formats and techniques that genuinely move the industry forward.”

Jamie Anderson, Co-Founder of Deep Fusion Films, says: “Deep Fusion was built to explore what storytelling could become, not just how it is made today. Becoming part of John Gore Studios allows us to embed that thinking across a broader creative ecosystem, supporting partners with best-in-class tools, governance and creative experimentation, while remaining grounded in respect for talent, audiences and IP.”

The acquisition was led by Chief Acquisition Officer, Jonathan Lack, for John Gore Studios
