Jane Beacon and Clare Ely to share Head of Daytime role at ITV
ITV’s Daytime Commissioning Editors Jane Beacon and Clare Ely have been promoted to job share the Head of Daytime role on ITV’s Commissioning team.
The pair have covered the role following Helen Warner’s departure, and their appointment to the position on a permanent basis was confirmed today, by Kevin Lygo.
Kevin Lygo said: “Jane and Clare are extremely experienced, capable and creative commissioners who have a real love of daytime TV. They have almost 50 years of TV production experience between them and they work brilliantly together. They are the best people for this role and I am delighted that they are stepping up to join the senior team in ITV commissioning.”

Jane Beacon and Clare Ely joined ITV commissioning to job share the role of Daytime Commissioning Editor in 2014. In that time a series of new shows were launched in daytime including Good Morning Britain, Judge Rinder, James Martin’s Adventure series and Tenable. Jane and Clare also oversee the peak versions of daytime shows including Celebrity Chase, Family Chase, Tipping Point Lucky Stars, Judge Rinder’s Crime Stories and James Martin’s French Adventure.
Jane Beacon joined ITV commissioning after executive producing Dancing on Ice, and her production credits include Hell’s Kitchen, I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!, Celebrity Fame Academy for BBC One, and the Real Crime series for ITV. She is also a former producer of Loose Women and GMTV.
Before joining ITV commissioning Clare Ely produced a range of daytime and factual series including This Morning, Loose Women and various talk and makeover formats along with the From Hell and Real Crime documentary series for ITV. Prior to joining the commissioning team, she was a Head of Development and Executive Producer for Shiver.
A new Daytime Commissioning Editor will be recruited in due course.
