The TV Foundation, in association with the Edinburgh TV Festival, has announced the winners of the 2024 New Voice Awards.

The New Voice Awards recognise emerging creatives and the organisations that back them

Big wins on the evening came for ITV who received the Best Broadcaster For New Talent award for the third year running. The Victor Adebodun Award for Debut Director in Scripted went to David Allain for his work on Series 4 of ITV1’s The Bay (Episodes 4, 5 & 6).

Channel 4, who dominated this year’s shortlist with 13 nominations, scooped three awards on the night including the Debut Writer award which went to Bridget Christie for her work on Channel 4 comedy-drama series The Change. The Victor Adebodun Award for Debut Director (Unscripted) went to Ben Cheetham for Channel 4’s Pete Doherty, Who Killed My Son?, and Emily Victoria won the Debut Presenter award for the Channel 4 documentary A Paedophile in My Family: Surviving Dad.

Holly Newson picked up the award for Future Presenter, while the award for Best Social Series went to Dom A Lloyd: Cymru Heddiw. Further awards for New Talent went to Big Deal Films for Best Production Company, and Middleweek Newton Talent Management for Best Agency. The 2024 Mentor of the Year award was presented to producer Jules Hussey of Brazen Productions.

The TV Foundation Programme Director, Gemma Bradshaw said: “We are delighted to have the New Voice Awards return for the seventh annual ceremony. It’s a privilege to recognise and celebrate the remarkable emerging talent, and to acknowledge the broadcasters who champion new voices.
