ITN Productions has secured its first commission for UKTV with a new ten-part series for Dave.
With exclusive access to the Suffolk Police, Fast Justice (10×60’) is an observational documentary series following the force as they combat crime in the area. In a national first, a group of elite officers have been armed with state of the art Automatic Number Plate Recognition technology with instant access to a network of cameras across the country, and new, high performance, customised BMWs.
Known as the ‘The Sentinels’ – these officers are tasked with tracking down some of the UK’s most serious criminals and getting them off the streets. Following real stories as they happen, the series features issues including drug trafficking, human trafficking, violent, serious and complex crimes. It highlights the challenges and criminal trends the Police in Suffolk are facing on a day-to-day basis.
Fast Justice is produced by ITN Productions. It has been commissioned for UKTV by Hilary Rosen, head of factual and factual entertainment, and ordered by Dave channel director Luke Hales and Steve North, genre general manager for comedy and entertainment. The series is executive produced for ITN Productions by Charlie Clay and Will Smith. DCD Rights will be distributing the series internationally.
Will Smith, Executive Producer at ITN Productions said: “Fast Justice is an up close, unfiltered, exciting contemporary police series. We’re with the Sentinels every step of the way as they target, hunt down and arrest some of the UK’s most wanted criminals. With fixed-rigs in their high speed pursuit cars and filming at their intelligence hub, viewers will get a front-row seat as the drama unfolds.”
Hilary Rosen, Commissioning Editor at UKTV said: “It’s great to be working on our first commission with ITN Productions. The team there has gained hard-won access to a new way of policing crime hot spots and chasing down criminals driving crimewaves. Fast Justice promises to be an eye-opening and high octane series.”
Luke Hales added: “Packed full of hair-raising chases, adrenaline fuelled raids, and multiple arrests, I hope Dave viewers are strapped in and ready to go.”
