Indie Zandland has been commissioned by ITV to produce a “brave, bold, and unflinching” new documentary examining the human and ethical dimensions of the Israel Gaza war.

Breaking Ranks: Inside Israel’s War will present first-hand recollections of IDF soldiers who have broken official silence to share their experiences of the war in Gaza – “accounts that may raise serious questions about conduct on the ground and potential breaches of international law.”

Directed by award-winning filmmaker Ben Zand, the film features exclusive interviews with Israel Defense Forces (IDF), reservists and veterans – many speaking for the first time – who served during the war in Gaza.

The 1×60’ film pieces together a picture from inside Israel’s military ranks, “raising questions about accountability, command decisions, and the hidden realities of a war largely shielded from public view.”

The documentary, ZANDLAND’s first for ITV,  delves deeper into the nature of these allegations from those inside the IDF, while also detailing their impact on civilians inside Gaza and hearing the perspective of Palestinians.

Director and founder of ZANDLAND, Ben Zand said: “The ability to expose the reality of what happened on the ground in this horrific situation is what journalism is for. These testimonies shine a light on actions and decisions that the world was never meant to see, and they challenge us to confront what really happens in conflict when accountability is lost.“
