Duck Soup Films, producer of award-winning drama, Lost Boys & Fairies, has announced it is to cease active development & production from January 2026.
Libby Durdy, Jessica Brown-Meek and Bekki Wray-Rogers have announced that their Yorkshire-based production company will cease development and production while continuing to manage and oversee their existing IP.
The decision follows an exceptional run for the company’s recent BBC series Lost Boys & Fairies, which has received widespread acclaim and numerous accolades including Best Limited Series at BANFF, an Attitude TV Award, two BAFTA nominations, and five BAFTA Cymru 2025 wins.
In a joint statement, the founders said: “Maintaining an indie focused on bold, authored content in today’s climate is increasingly untenable for a small company like ours. We simply don’t have the resources to sustain our work as producers developing in-house at the level we aspire to, and the market will no longer support it.”
The trio are in the process of finding suitable homes for their existing slate of tv and film projects and remain hopeful for Lost Boys & Fairies, which is nominated for Best Single Drama / Mini-Series at the International Emmys later this month. The founders are “proud of the company’s achievements and the projects they have developed together and remain close collaborators and friends.”
