Hearst Canvas, the creator-led digital content company launched by Hearst Networks last year, has announced its first senior appointment with Danny Baggott joining as Creative Director.

He joins from Future Studios, where he served as Content Director, leading a team of 60 across two flagship brands.

Hearst Canvas was launched in 2025 as a subsidiary of Hearst Networks, focused on developing creator-led, platform-native content and partnerships. The business will partner with independent producers – from digital-first creators to established indies – to outsource production for its slate.

At Future Studios and Barcroft Studios, Baggott oversaw editorial strategy, production, and P&L management for brands such as Truly and WhatCulture. He has developed new series, managed talent, and ensured compliance and duty of care across projects.

Commenting on his appointment, Baggott said: “Hearst Canvas is a rare opportunity to build something genuinely new in digital video. With Hearst’s backing, we have the freedom to experiment and create formats that resonate with global audiences. I’m excited to start building the team and focus on setting the direction for the business, forming the right partnerships and establishing the foundations for the Canvas slate.”

He will report to Heather Jones, Chief Creative Officer EMEA and General Manager UK at Hearst Networks, who said: “We’re delighted to welcome Danny to lead Hearst Canvas. His depth of experience, creative vision, and proven track record make him the ideal person to shape the business, and we’re excited to see the innovative projects he will bring to life.”

Further details on content, formats, and additional partnerships will be announced in due course.
