HBO has promoted Nancy Abraham and Lisa Heller to exec VPs of Documentary and Family Programming.

The two have been promoted from their current SVP roles following the announcement that the president of HBO Documentary and Family Programming, Sheila Nevins, is stepping down after 38 years in the role.

Abraham and Heller will be responsible for the development, production and acquisition of HBO’s docs and family programming.

Abraham joined the HBO doc division in 1995 and her exec credits include Cries From Syria, Bright Lights: Starring Carrie Fisher and Debbie Reynolds, Six by Sondheim and Life According to Sam.

Heller has been with the doc unit since 2000 and her credits as an exec include The Jinx: The Life and Deaths of Robert Durst, Capturing the Friedmans, Spielberg, The Black List and The Words That Built America.
