Gravity Media is to launch its second London Production Centre later this year at White City.
The new Production Centre will showcase Gravity’s technical facilities and joins its current other global Production Centres in London’s Chiswick, Manchester, Sydney, Melbourne, and San Francisco.
The next-generation Production Centre housed in The Westworks building will be a “creative and technology leading media hub” made up of production, post-production, and live studios.
The 50,000 square foot facility will feature “best in class” technology to support both on premise and distributed remote production workflows. Directly connected to the Gravity Media UK and metro networks as well as on net with other key telco partners and able to support in excess of 200 incoming and 40 outgoing discreet services. The facility will be based around a fully fledged 2110 IP media fabric with dedicated master control, and remote production break out MCR, eight dedicated production control rooms with dedicated audio control rooms, multiple off tube commentary booths, two studios lighting and vision control facilities, fast turnaround and craft edit, flexi desk production spaces, media management and client desking.
The Westworks building is situated next to the BBC Television Centre, which houses ITV live daytime shows Good Morning Britain, Lorraine, This Morning, and Loose Women as well as entertainment shows including Saturday Night Takeaway and the Jonathan Ross Show.
The new facility will bring together the production and content team, the Gravity House post-production offering of multi-suite spaces, editing suites, and post-technical solutions.
The new Production Centre will also enable Gravity Media to bring in key Sports Federations to be based in their facility.
The facility will also mean Gravity Media can draw on its EMEA and Global network and collaborate directly with its London Production Centre in Chiswick, enabling completely decentralised remote production workflows with the flexibility to integrate next-generation cloud-based, GPU-powered workflows.
Ed Tischler, Gravity Media’s Managing Director says of the new facility: “The expansion into a brand new, state-of-the-art Production Centre is a big moment for Gravity Media. We are immensely proud of the team and the business and are excited about what the space can offer our clients.
