Arts Alliance, the parent company of Garden Studios, has announced a new co-production initiative aimed at supporting high-quality independent feature films.
The programme will provide eligible productions with a combination of equity investment and a cashflow facility, available to films shooting at Garden Studios’ facilities in central London.
Targeting feature films with budgets in the £5–10 million range, the initiative is designed to help complete financing packages and attract top-tier filmmakers to Garden Studios.
“We work very hard to be accessible to independent film makers, challenging them to embrace technology and to get more artistically out of budgets by delivering projects faster to create value for all.” Says Thomas Hoegh Founder and CEO of Arts Alliance and Garden Studios. “Personally, and through our companies, we are passionate about cinema and supporting production.”
This announcement comes as the UK’s revised AVEC tax incentive, implemented on 1 April, begins to draw more independent productions (under £15 million) to the country. Garden Studios says it is “uniquely positioned to support this growing demand, offering the flexibility independent projects require—unlike long-term-lease-bound major studios.”
