Finite Films & TV has launched premium YouTube docuseries, Challengers, in partnership with the British America’s Cup Team, GB1, and global sportswear brand, North Sails.

Finite Films & TV joins as the production company for series 2 of Challengers, which features access to team GB1’s intensive training regime in the build-up to the pinnacle of high-performance sailing events, The 38th America’s Cup.

Following the first series in 2025, the second series will launch on GB1’s YouTube on Friday 15th May, ahead of the 2027 America’s Cup.

The series is funded by sportswear brand North Sails. Challengers marks a continued collaboration between Finite Films & TV and North Sails, following the launch of the production company’s original celebrity competition series Wings & Waves last year. Finite Films & TV retain production and distribution IP and format rights globally.

Series 2 of Challengers portrays a landmark moment in sporting history, following GB1, the first British sailing team in 90 years to reach the final of the America’s Cup, as they challenge again to win the world’s oldest international sporting trophy.

The docuseries delivers a “cinematic, high-pressure and dramatic” portrayal of elite sporting rivalry, while shining a light on the “humanity, resilience and teamwork” behind the campaign, led by sailing legend Ben Ainslie.

Filmed in the team’s central office in Portsmouth, and the training camps in Cagliari, Sardinia, the series follows the challenges facing the team both on and off the water. With a blend of ‘fly on the wall’ access to some of the world’s top sailing athletes, and new sailing talent from the Athena Pathway’sWomen’s and Youth America’s Cup Team, series two will feature talking head interviews and stunning sailing footage. The first Preliminary Regatta is set to take place in The Gulf of Angels, Cagliari on 21st-24th May 2026.

It is executive produced by Amy Gardner with Paddy Hughes onboard as Creative Director. Hughes’ recent credits include: Jack & Dean of All Trades, Eating with my Ex and Celebrity Send Off.

Amy Gardner, Executive Producer of Challengers and Founder of Finite Films & TV says “Challengers marks our continued collaboration with North Sails and an exciting new partnership with GB1, to spotlight a whole new level of sporting excellence in a digital series. In each episode, members of the GB1 team are put through high-stakes challenges during their training, both on and off the water. There’s a huge appetite for premium access-led sports storytelling, and Challengers gives audiences a rare window into one of the most technically demanding competitions in world sport.”

Sir Ben Ainslie, GB1 Team Principal says “The America’s Cup is often cloaked in secrecy, with much of the build-up taking place behind closed doors. We wanted Challengers to change that narrative by inviting fans inside the campaign — capturing the intensity of competing at the highest level, while also revealing the human side of the journey: the pressure, sacrifice and unity required to push for success in one of the toughest competitions in sport.”
