Film Soho has partnered with creative platform Disguise and its newly announced Metaverse Labs.
Disguise’s Metaverse Labs are an end-to-end solution for anyone seeking to experiment and innovate with in the $8 trillion metaverse market.
Within this partnership, Film Soho’s aim is to “further the young and fast-growing industry centred around new technologies such as virtual production, real-time rendered 3d filmmaking, and the convergence of film within the metaverse.”
Film Soho is launching various initiatives in this space including a state-of-the-art virtual production stage in Soho with next generation LED, powered by Disguise. The stage will also include full spectrum dynamically driven lighting that can be used both for virtual production in filmmaking and to connect virtual worlds with the real.
The studio will be able to offer a full circle consultancy service- from the start of previsualisation to on set support and post filming for re-shoots of more technically difficult scenes.
“Entering the virtual production space has shown us that the technology has applications far beyond cinema,” says Annabel Martin, Director of Operations at Film Soho “It has the potential to affect every aspect of entertainment -not only on a practical level, but it will do wonders for accessibility, while hopefully helping us towards a greener way of working. Our R&D in this space will push the boundaries of film and blur the lines between each sector, making it a more interesting and collaborative space to be in.”
