Post house Fifty Fifty has announced that it is to close its doors after 23 years in operation.
Fifty Fifty is the latest casualty of in the UK post scene that has seen a host of storied operations forced to close its doors during harsh trading conditions.
B-Corp certified Fifty Fifty, like many other post houses, reports that while it has been running at capacity, the margins have become too tight to sustain the business.
Founder, Sally Pacy, issued the following statement.
After 23 years of Fifty Fifty it is with deep regret that we share the following news.
As many of you will be aware, the post production market has faced significant and sustained challenges for some time, and we’ve seen several highly respected companies close their doors.
It is with sadness that we have to tell you now that Fifty Fifty will be closing too. We will cease trading at the end of this week, Friday 31st July.
We have been exploring every realistic option available to us to keep the business open. This year so far, we have been running at full capacity, with every suite and every member of our team fully engaged in delivering great work. But as we approach the end of July, even accounting for projects currently in the building and work in the pipeline for autumn, the level of income and margin simply isn’t sustainable for us to continue trading viably.
It has been an enormous honour and privilege to be part of this industry alongside so many talented people. We are so incredibly proud of what our team has built over the last 23 years — the relationships, the reputation, the culture, and the quality of work delivered together. This has only been possible because of the trust and collaboration we’ve had with our team, our clients, and our freelance and supplier friends across the industry.
Thank you to everyone who has been part of the Fifty Fifty story.
If you have any opportunities for our fantastic team (https://fiftyfiftypost.com/people/) and would like to reach out to any one of them, please do contact us on info@fiftyfiftypost.com.
