Producer Jonathon Hancock is launching Reel Scenes Media, a full-service production company focusing on factual entertainment for broadcasters and brands, working across digital and terrestrial platforms.
Based in Brixton, Reel Scenes Media collaborates with Young Creators UK (YCUK), “the UK’s first youth-run, impact-led creative agency, to introduce fresh talent to projects while delivering high-quality programming.”
Hancock’s portfolio includes Strictly Come Dancing (as Senior Edit Producer and Edit Producer); The Apprentice, Come Dine With Me and Britain’s Got Talent (as Producer/Director); Cooking With the Stars and Eurovision Welcomes the World (as Senior Producer); and Dubai: Buying the Dream (as Development Producer).
Reel Scenes Media has already made two senior hires. Georgia North-Coombes joins as Senior Producer. Her credits include: Strictly Come Dancing and Gordon Ramsay’s Future Food Stars (as Producer); The Apprentice, Made In Chelsea, Eating With My Ex and Glow Up (as Assistant Producer); as well as working on campaigns for brands such as John Lewis, Speedo, Tesco Victoria’s Secret and Sweaty Betty. Amy Mcilveen, who joins as Production Executive, has worked on major productions such as: Strictly Come Dancing and Boss Pitches (as Production Manager); and Top Gear, RuPaul’s Drag Race, Blind Date and Catfish (as Junior Production Manager).
Founded in 2019, Young Creators UK (YCUK) “facilitates the technical and personal development of young people.” The creative agency provides “peer-to-peer learning, equipment lending, paid work, creative workshops and a radically progressive culture where young people thrive.”
Jonathon Hancock, Founder and Creative Director, Reel Scenes Media, says: “The demand for unscripted content that pushes boundaries is booming across all platforms. We know that there is a strong opportunity in today’s market for broadcasters to leverage more opportunities in the digital space, reach those under-served audiences and forge even more programming collaborations with brands. It’s a great time to be at the forefront of this movement.”
“Reel Scenes Media is committed to fostering inclusive collaboration and breaking down barriers within the production industry. Our partnership with Young Creators UK allows us to bring fresh and diverse perspectives to our projects for broadcasters and brands.”
