StudioPOW and Trevor Beattie Films have added Emily Watson, Eddie Marsan and Omari Douglas to the cast of Brian Epstein biopic, Midas Man.

The three join Jacob Fortune-Lloyd who will play the visionary Beatles manager Brian Epstein. Emily Watson (War Horse, Chernobyl, Too Close) will play Epstein’s mother Malka “Queenie” Epstein, Eddie Marsan (V for Vendetta, Sherlock Holmes) will portray Brian’s father and successful businessman Harry, and rising star Omari Douglas (It’s a Sin, Constellations) as Lonnie Trimble, Epstein’s ever-trusted confidant and friend.

Midas Man will be directed by Jonas Åkerlund (Polar, Lords of Chaos). Åkerlund, famed for his work in commercials and music video will also have creative input into the film’s iconic soundtrack.

Jonas Åkerlund said: ‘Brian’s family meant so much to him. I’m thrilled to have such incredible talent taking on the roles of Queenie, Harry and Lonnie. I think Brian would be smiling on our casting today..’.

Trevor Beattie said ‘Brian was a singular individual, but he was shaped by those closest to him, his beloved mother and father, Harry and Queenie and his trusted right hand man, Lonnie. The casting of these roles is vital to our story. To have secured the gigantic talents of Emily Watson, Eddie Marsan and Omari Douglas to play them is a dream come true.

“It’s a reflection both on the love and respect creative people still have for Brian Epstein and a salute to the skills and reputation of our director Jonas Åkerlund. Jonas has brought Eppy’s family back to life. It’s a wonderful thing. And we can’t wait to get started.’

Midas Man is billed as a “definitive cinematic telling of Brian’s dazzling and tumultuous life which saw him shoot to fame at the tender age of 25 but ended in tragedy at the age of 32. The film will highlight his unparalleled influence on pop music, and its colossal impact worldwide which will touch audiences with Brian’s heartfelt story.”
