The Edinburgh TV Festival has revealed the shortlist for its TV Awards, and the appointment of the TV Awards’ first ever Jury President, Reggie Yates.

In the Breakthrough Talent category, Olly Alexander, Rosie Jones, Yinka Bokinni, Omari Douglas, Callum Scott Howells and Hector Abbott all make the shortlist. The Best TV Actor categories include Anna Maxwell Martin, Tanya Moodie, Anjana Vasan, OT Fagbenle, Joe Gilgun and Samson Kayo for Comedy, and  David Tennant, Jason Watkins, Keeley Hawes, Rakie Ayola, Hayley Squires and Billie Piper for Drama. The Best TV Presenter award includes Anita Rani, Grayson Perry, Bradley Walsh, Romesh Ranganathan, Graham Norton and Roman Kemp.

The Comedy category shortlist includes a broad and diverse range from Trying, Starstruck and We are Lady Parts through to Motherland, Brassic and Bloods, whilst the Drama category includes I May Destroy You, It’s A Sin, Gangs of London, Des, Anthony and All Creatures Great and Small.
