Duck Soup Films has hired experienced line producer Kate Larking as head of production.

Duck Soup Films was set up in 2015 by producers Libby Durdy (Made of Stone, This is England ’88), Bekki Wray Rogers (This is England ’88 & ’90, Utopia 1&2) and Jessica Brown Meek (nee Holyland) (This is England ’90, Building the Dream).

Reporting to the Founders, Larking will be responsible for overseeing the management of all Duck Soup projects from development through to delivery.

Prior to joining Duck Soup, Larking was working with Birmingham-based Kids and Family indie ‘Threewise Entertainment’. Additionally, her recent line producing credits include BBC Dramas Ridley Road for Red Productions and an Untitled single film for Expectation.

Jessica Brown Meek, Co-Founder, said “We are delighted to be welcoming Kate to Duck Soup. She brings with her a wealth of valuable experience and is a champion of creating nurturing production environments that facilitate and support the ‘talent-led’ creative approach that we embrace at Duck Soup”

Of her appointment, Kate Larking said “I’m over the moon to be joining the inspirational team at Duck Soup and working together on their slate of exciting, visionary projects.”

In 2021, C4 Growth Fund invested in Duck Soup Films by taking a stake in the UK indie.
