The Secretary of State for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport, Oliver Dowden, has confirmed that film and TV production can continue in the UK despite the new national lockdown rules starting today.
While lockdown rules mean everyone must now work from home ‘where possible’, Dowden has confirmed that the film and TV production sector can continue to operate as it has done over the past few months.
Dowden said “The situation is very serious & we must act. For the arts/creative sectors this means you should work from home unless you can’t – exemptions include for training and rehearsal of performances, recording studios and film & TV production. Outdoor heritage sites and gardens can stay open for exercise.”
