Discovery has commissioned Johnny vs Amber, a two-episode documentary that tells the story of the breakdown of Johnny Depp and Amber Heard’s relationship and how it tipped into the celebrity court case of the decade.

The double bill is produced by Optomen and tells the story from the two polarised perspectives.

The show includes interviews with the lawyers involved on both sides and testimony from those close to the pair and also examines extensive footage and audio recordings filmed by the couple themselves. Johnny vs Amber will be available to watch on discovery+ this autumn.

The series was ordered for discovery+ by Clare Laycock, commissioned by Charlotte Reid and executive produced by Matt Reid for Discovery. It is executive produced by Nick Hornby and Fran Baker for Optomen.
