Filmmaker Nadia Hallgren has been announced as the director of the upcoming Victoria Beckham documentary series for Netflix.

Nadia Hallgren previously directed four time Emmy nominated Becoming (2020) for Netflix – which provided an intimate look into the life of former First Lady Michelle Obama “during a moment of profound change, not only for her personally but for the country she and her husband served over eight impactful years in the White House.”

More recently Hallgren was series director on Pop Star Academy: KATSEYE (2024) and Emmy nominated Civil: Ben Crump (2022), both also for Netflix. Her previous work includes Academy Award shortlisted documentary short After Maria and Webby Award winner Gavin Grimm vs. Her work in cinematography includes the Sundance award-winner Motherland, Academy Award-nominated and Sundance Grand Jury Prize-winner Trouble the Water, as well as Sundance award-winner Trapped.

Production on the Victoria Beckham series began in August with Hallgren and crew following Victoria across the world as she continues to build her fashion and beauty business. With exclusive access to Victoria, her family, and those closest to her, the series will explore her time in the global spotlight. Following David Beckham’s doc series, the upcoming doc “promises to get up close and personal with the former pop star as she juggles her business and family life.”

The series from Studio 99 and Dorothy St Pictures is executive produced by the Emmy award winning Nicola Howson (BECKHAM, 99, Save Our Squad, Ronnie O’Sullivan: The Edge of Everything) and award winning Julia Nottingham (Pamela, a love story, The Greatest Night in Pop).
