Banijay UK scripted label, Conker Pictures, has appointed Nick Bedingfield and Sanaya Buhariwala-Collins as Development Executive and Development Assistant respectively.

Reporting to Joint MDs Tommy Bulfin and Kim Varvell, they will be tasked with working closely with writers and talent with the aim of developing a “vibrant and distinctive” drama slate.

Bedingfield started his career at Scott Free before moving to DNA Films in 2019, where he was promoted to Development Executive in 2021. At DNA he helped to develop multiple film and TV projects with the BBC, FX, Netflix, Searchlight, MGM, and Film4, with a particular focus on emerging talent.

Buhariwala-Collins began her career as an in-house Development Intern at the Independent Film Company and most recently worked at 42 where she completed an internship and then continued to assist the Head of TV and Executive Producers.

Established in April by ex-BBC Drama Commissioner Tommy Bulfin and ex-Apple TV commissioner Kim Varvell with funding from the Banijay UK Growth Fund, Conker Pictures already has a number of projects in development with major UK broadcasters as part of their slate.

Tommy and Kim said: “We are thrilled to have Nick and Sanaya on the Conker Pictures team and are looking forward to working with them as we grow our company and continue to work with some of the brightest and best creative talent in our industry. In our new home in the heart of Soho, we are confident that Conker has many great stories to tell over the coming years.”
