Icon films have been commissioned by Channel 5 to produce two behind-the-scenes documentaries looking at an American landfill and the production of airline food.
The Bristol-based indie will continue their ‘Secrets of the Mega…’ documentary strand, following on from last year’s All You Can Eat: Secrets of the Mega… Buffet and Totally Stuffed! Secrets of the Mega… Christmas Buffet. Both docs gave an insight into the inner working of the buffet restaurant chain, JRC Global Buffet.
The 90-minute stand-alone documentaries Secrets of the Mega…Airline Food and Secrets of the Mega…Landfill have been commissioned by Daniel Pearl, Commissioning Editor for Factual at Channel 5. The former will explore the sky-high ambition of Alpha LSG, the UK’s largest supplier of airline food. The Landfill doc will explore one of the biggest waste landfill sites in North America, looking at how the industry transports, processes and reuses waste on a daily basis.
