Maroon Productions has been commissioned by Channel 5 to make a two part doc, Inside the Gang, that will offer “unprecedented access and a rare insight into the lives of London’s most notorious street gangs.”

Much of the film is captured by the gangs themselves at secret locations known only to the gangs. The cameras having been left for the gang members use, in pre-arranged locations, and then returned anonymously by them after filming.

Channel 5 says the films will have no blurred faces or hidden cameras and no one in the film has been paid.
Guy Davies, Commissioning Editor Factual, Channel 5 comments: "This is a first for British broadcasting as Channel 5 breaks new ground with this hard-hitting observational documentary, revealing the true extent of underground gang culture in London. Produced with extensive co-operation of the gangs, the young people in the film have been brutally honest and open about gang life in London today.”

Paul Blake, Executive Producer and Maroon Productions Creative Director said:  “Much has been written and made about recent ‘conflicts’ in war theatres such as Afghanistan, but little is known about a war that has been raging for years in cities like London, where teenagers caught up in a culture of gang violence routinely lose friends who are shot or stabbed.”
