BBC Studios Productions has appointed Tinopolis’ Naomi Carter as Director of Production for Factual Entertainment & Events.

With four bases around the country – London, Bristol, Cardiff and Belfast, the division produces programmes including Top Gear, DIY SOS, Antiques Roadshow, and Celebrity Painting Challenge and award-winning events coverage like Royal British Legion Festival of Remembrance and The Royal Wedding: Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

In this newly created role, reporting into Hannah Wyatt, Managing Director, Factual Entertainment & Events, Carter will lead the production and business teams in developing, winning and producing commissions. She will also help define and deliver the commercial strategy to grow the business and maximise the value it returns to the BBC.

Carter joins BBC Studios Productions from Tinopolis where she was Chief Operating Officer, leading the Tinopolis Factual Group of companies from a business, commercial and production perspective. She was previously Director of Production at Mentorn Media and Firecracker Films and Head of Production at Mentorn Media, overseeing factual, factual entertainment and entertainment shows, including An Idiot Abroad, Question Time, Traffic Cops, Hotel of Mum and Dad and Greggs: Baking for Britain. She has nearly 20 years’ experience working for independent production companies and broadcasters and also held senior production roles at Endemol and Planet 24.
