Cardiff Productions has reshuffled its senior management team “to support the strategic growth of the business.”

Narinder Minhas, co-founder and co-Managing Director will take over the leadership of the company, becoming CEO whilst fellow co-founder, Pat Younge, shifts from co-Managing Director to Non-Executive Director, to concentrate on company strategy whilst developing his growing portfolio of external commitments.

Narinder Minhas says: “We’ve got a hugely talented Welsh team and have recently experienced significant growth, with wide-ranging interest in our approach to making bold, diverse programming.  Now is the perfect time for us to focus on the strategic development of the company.  Pat will use his experience and insight to help shape the company’s strategy and I’m excited to be working with him in this new capacity.

“We have been working towards this natural progression for some time, as we always knew that Pat would be growing his portfolio of interests outside the company.  Cardiff Productions is in a very strong position, with a brilliant team at the top, including Gwendie Carnie, our Chief Operating Officer; Becky Nunn, recently appointed as our first Executive Producer; Catrin Medi, our Company Production Manager; and Jo Wynne-Williams, our Head of Finance.  We have already announced our move into scripted and we continue our drive into formats and innovative factual content.”

As Non-Executive Director, Younge will work with Minhas on the strategic development of the company, supporting Cardiff Productions’ growth as a company, whilst expanding his growing portfolio of roles outside the organisation.  In January 2020, he became Chair of the governing body of Cardiff University.  He also Chairs The British Broadcasting Challenge, a campaign aimed at supporting the continuation of British public service broadcasting; is a Non-Executive Director of ITV Studios, advising on strategy and business development; and is an investor and on the board of podcast company, Unedited.

Pat Younge adds: “We are part of a flourishing global content industry and I’m excited to be helping Cardiff Productions spread its wings whilst, at the same time, spreading mine with a growing range of current and future external collaborations . Narinder has been the creative driving force behind the company for some time, so I am thrilled to be making our change of roles official, with this announcement. Cardiff Productions is delivering some really provocative and innovative programming, the development pipeline is strong and creatively the team is on fire. I’m excited I can continue to make a contribution to the company’s success in this new role.”

Launched in 2020, Cardiff Productions next production on screen is Tan France’s first British show, Tan France: Beauty and the Bleach which airs at 9pm on Wednesday 27 April on BBC Two.  It is currently in production with Britain’s Beautiful Rivers with Richard Hammond for Channel 4 and Moments That Shaped Queer Black Britain for BET UK. Cardiff Productions is also the co-producer of Channel 4’s Unapologetic, Channel 4’s topical discussion programme.

Minhas and Younge take up their new roles with immediate effect.
