Sky’s outgoing Drama Director, Cameron Roach has launched Rope Ladder Fiction, a Manchester based, independent production company with a focus on providing training and development opportunities to new talent.

The indie is already working on a range of projects, with the aim of production commencing in 2022.

Rope Ladder Fiction will build upon Roach’s first solo project, curating Flip the Script, a training programme to provide twelve paid placements for aspiring script editors in the North-West run by social enterprise, Sharp Futures.

Cameron’s career includes work on Life on Mars, Silk, Casualty and Waterloo Road, as well as commissioning shows like I Hate Suzie, Third Day, Intergalactic and Gangs of London.

The business will be based at the Sharp Project in Manchester.
