Channel 4 has commissioned Buy It, Batch It, Cook It (w/t) from South Shore Productions Cardiff and Lidl.

The show will be fronted by bestselling food author and social media star Suzanne Mulholland also known as The Batch Lady, and presenter and cookbook writer Joe Swash, in the new six-part series for Channel 4 in partnership with Lidl.

The pair will meet a broad mix of families who are each in need of advice to make their food budgets go further, their menus more organised and their meals better by cutting their meal prep time down to as little as just one hour a week by batch cooking, freezing, and storing multiple meals.

Suzanne Mulholland comments: “It’s a dream come true to be fronting a cookery TV series on Channel 4. When I started The Batch Lady, I never imagined that it would inspire such a following let alone lead to my face on bestselling books and primetime TV. I’m really excited to work with Joe to change the lives of families around the UK one batch at a time.”

Joe Swash comments: “The last few years have seen every one of us juggling so many stresses, not least the rising cost of our food. Suzanne and I are hoping to give households the tools to not just save the pennies and the pounds, but also have more time to spend on being together as a family.”

The 6 x 60 series is a South Shore Productions format, executive produced by Melanie Leach and Andrew MacKenzie-Betty, joint CEOs of South Shore. The series has been commissioned for Channel 4 by Clemency Green, Senior Commissioning Editor for Lifestyle, and Jo Street, Head of Lifestyle.

Channel 4’s Clemency Green comments: ‘I am so excited to see Suzanne and Joe show us how to cook nutritious meals whilst saving money and time. Made in partnership with Lidl this series is exactly what busy families need and I hope it empowers people to cook healthy and delicious homemade food’

South Shore’s Melanie Leach adds: “We’re thrilled to be working with Joe and Suzanne on what promises to be an entertaining and informative watch for us all. We aim to show that household cooking doesn’t have to be costly and time-consuming.”

Joanna Gomer, Marketing Director at Lidl GB says: We’re really excited to partner with this series on Channel 4 and extend our partnership with Suzanne, to help more families make their money go further. We’re always big on quality, Lidl on price, and together with Suzanne and Joe’s practical advice and real life examples,  we hope to help households across the nation get the most out of their time and money, and discover new joys of cooking.”
