Katie Brewer-Frankl is moving from RDF to be Director of Production for BBC Studios Productions’ Factual Entertainment and Events division.
The role will see her lead production, commercial and business teams for BBC Studios’ five bases across the UK. Working to Managing Director for Factual Entertainment and Events, Hannah Wyatt, she will spearhead delivery of the divisions commercial strategy to grow the business as well as overall production management responsibility for a slate that includes programmes like Top Gear, DIY SOS, The One Show, Royal British Legion Festival of Remembrance and The Royal Wedding: Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, as well as more recent commissions like Hungry For It, Master of Ceremonies, Foxy’s Fearless 48 Hours and Morning Live.
She will be across the department’s expansion into SVOD and AVOD, as well as driving new business in international territories.
She joins from RDF part of the Baniiay Group, where she is currently Director of Production for a group of labels – RDF, Fizz and Little Wonder, overseeing a large production slate that included the Bafta nominated Anton Ferdinand: Football Racism and Me, Tipping Point, Dementia and Me and Eat Well For Less.
She has also worked as Head of Production at Little Gem working across a variety of titles How To Lose Weight Well, This Is Our Family. She also worked at 7Wonder as Director of Production and Operations leading their business and production operations on shows such as Billy Connolly: Great American Trail and t Hometown.
Brewer-Frankl will take up the position early next year.
