Philip Barantini, director of Boiling Point, and co-creator and executive producer of the subsequent BBC TV series of the same title, and friend, collaborator and Boiling Point film executive producer Samantha Beddoe have announced the launch of their indie It’s All Made Up Productions.

With offices in London and plans to open an office in their home city of Liverpool, Barantini and Beddoe have a slate of productions already in development with major broadcasters and studios in the UK and US. The slate will focus on drama and documentaries for film and television. With over 35 years of combined industry experience, Barantini and Beddoe are committed to championing lesser-known and under-represented voices and stories.

Philip Barantini said, ”We want to tell powerful stories that resonate and provoke through film, drama and documentaries on the biggest scale possible. I am deeply passionate about the industry and where I come from and to work with my close friend and long-time collaborator Sam is a dream come true.”

Executive Producer and Co-Founder Samantha Beddoe added, “Having previously worked together on Accused, the experience solidified a common goal in the stories we want to tell and the way we tell them. With both of us coming from a similar background in the Northwest, there was also the mindset of establishing a platform for voices from our home city along with the opportunity to tell stories that we loved, on our terms and with the range of talent beyond the Watford Gap.”

Philip Barantini began his film and television career acting in dramas Band of Brothers, Dream Team, Chernobyl and films including Ned Kelly. He then moved behind the camera directing the feature Boiling Point and TV shows such as The Responder (BBC), Boiling Point (BBC) and Malpractice (ITV) as well as his Netflix feature film Accused.

The four-parter, Boiling Point will be streamed on Netflix in the US from 29th April.

Barantini is currently in pre-production for his next directing project, the crime-thriller Adolescence, written by Stephen Graham and Jack Thorne and produced by Warp Films, Plan B and Matriarch Productions for Netflix. Barantini will also serve as Executive Producer for It’s All Made Up Productions.

Executive Producer Samantha Beddoe began her career in Production Finance, controlling and running production budgets for Disney, Lucasfilm, FX Networks and BBC, to name a few. She executive produced the Boiling Point film as well as co-produced Accused with Barantini for Netflix. Additional credits include What’s Love Got To Do With It, Atlanta and the upcoming series The Acolyte.

Philip Barantini is personally represented by Independent Talent in the UK and CAA and Johnson, Shapiro, Slewett & Kole in the US for his directing work. Barantini is managed by Grandview in the US.

It’s All Made Up Productions is repped by Independent Talent in the UK and by CAA and Johnson, Shapiro, Slewett & Kole in the US. The company is managed by Grandview in the US.
