Poldark writer Debbie Horsfield has teamed up with A Very British Scandal indie Blueprint Pictures on a high-end drama based on the Wagatha Christie trial.
The Observer newspaper has reported that Horsfield, whose credits include BBC dramas Cutting It and Age Before Beauty, is working on the Blueprint drama alongside her former Poldark producer, Karen Thrussell.
Blueprint has previously made A Very English Scandal about the Jeremy Thorpe case starring Hugh Grant and Ben Whishaw and recently A Very British Scandal about the Duke and Duchess of Argyll, starring Paul Bettany and Claire Foy.
There are several other TV projects in development already surrounding the trial.
Channel 4 has already commissioned Chalkboard TV to create Vardy v Rooney: A Courtroom Drama, with dramatic reconstructions of the Rebekah Vardy v Coleen Rooney court case.
Curious films and Optomen also have documentaries about the case in development.
