Two years after its first end-of-year campaign for the Belgian National Lottery, Blinkink and agency mortierbrigade are back with a new animated film.

This year’s film features familiar characters from past commercials in a brand-new story. The film opens in a freezing garden on Christmas Eve, where a snowman is standing alone. He dreams of a warm, cosy Christmas. He crosses his fingers and makes a wish and Blinkink make it come true.

Jens Mortier, creative director and partner of mortierbrigade said : “Blinkink and Parabella surpassed our expectations with their magic and animation skills. The Last film was fantastic, but this one is even better. I have nothing but respect for the Blinkink animators who spent 50 days in succession putting together this wonderfully appealing and heart-warming story, frame by frame in stop motion.”

Every visual element was entirely hand-made and the images were filmed in stop motion. It was a mammoth task; but, judging by the fantastic results, one that was definitely worth the effort.

Mikey and Dan of Parabella said: “We loved returning to the world and characters from our 2015 Belgian Lottery film. It was important for us that we kept the same design and the playful attitude of the tinkering woodland animals, but we also wanted to make the world bigger, introduce some new characters, in the form of the family through the window. Our first glimpse into the world of humans.”

Belgian artist Spencer the Rover created the score for the film.
