Tin Roof factual indie Blink Films is in production on a new documentary exposing a series of near-catastrophic incidents aboard the International Space Station (ISS) for theatrical release in the UK, for PBS’s NOVA strand, France Television and SBS.

November 2025 marks 25 years since the first crew arrived onboard the International Space Station. In Terror on the Space Station (2×60’, 1×90’, titled Operation Space Station for NOVA), astronauts and mission control insiders reveal the most terrifying moments they have faced “from gas leaks, meteor strikes and docking disasters, to colliding satellites, spacewalk horrors, lethal showers of space junk, and the moment the entire ISS backflipped out of control.”

Dan Chambers, Creative Director, Blink Films said: “This documentary reveals a whole new story to the ISS, with the astronauts’ first-hand tales of survival in the most hostile environment known to humanity providing an edge-of-your-seat account of its 25-year history. We are thrilled to be in production for PBS, France Television and SBS as well as looking forward to seeing audiences’ reaction to the film being shown on big screens in cinemas.”

“Collaborating with Blink to produce this grand overview of the story of the International Space Station has been incredibly rewarding,” said Co-Executive Producer Chris Schmidt.  “We’ll be sad to say goodbye when this remarkable engineering marvel is decommissioned but we look forward to continuing to tell the dramatic and inspiring story of humankind’s presence in space.”

Terror on the Space Station is directed by Oscar Chan, produced by Sophie Burley, and executive produced by Tom Adams and Dan Chambers for Blink Films. Julia Cort and Chris Schmidt are executive producers for NOVA, and PBS International is the worldwide distribution partner. Blink Films is a Tin Roof Media company. NOVA is a production of GBH. PBS International is the worldwide distribution partner.

It is being launched to the international market by PBS International at MIPCOM.
