Black Camel Pictures has today announced a partnership with All3Media International. The Scottish based drama production house behind hits such as crime drama Annika, has signed a three year first-look deal, with the arrangement seeing All3Media International work with Black Camel Pictures exclusively on its upcoming scripted drama slate.

The news comes as the leading Scottish indie production company expands its development and production team. Luke Fresle joins as Head of Development from BBC Studios; Nicole Fitzpatrick moves into the role of Executive Producer; Eleanor Othieno and Katie Dow are promoted to Development Editors and Bjorn Hanson has been promoted to in-house producer.

The new appointments form part of the growing team headed up company founders, CEO Arabella Page Croft and Head of Production Kieran Parker.

Luke Fresle has worked across TV, radio and theatre in the UK, US and China. He’s worked on award-winning shows such as BBC1’s EastEnders, Our Girl, Gold Digger & Casualty, ITV1’s Unforgotten, and the UKTV / Showtime series’ We Hunt Together. He most recently led the creative team on the current two seasons of BBC1’s Silent Witness with Emilia Fox and David Caves.

Nicole Fitzpatrick’s previous credits include Executive Producer on the first two series of UKTV’s Annika, Script Executive on Acorn/ZDF series The Chelsea Detective, Script Executive on the Sky/HBO series Strike Back, and Script Producer on the BBC continuing drama EastEnders.

“Nicole Fitzpatrick is a fantastic Executive Producer and I’m thrilled that she will now oversee our production slate and hands over the reins of development to Head of Development & Executive Producer – Luke Fresle who joins us from BBC Studios. We also have great talent in Bjorn Hanson who has been promoted to In-house Producer and we are all supported by the fantastic Ellie Othieno and Katie Dow who are promoted to Development Editors. As a team we are primed for this very exciting time as a company.”

Black Camel Pictures currently produce Annika for UKTV and PBS Masterpiece, starring Nicola Walker. Since BBC One and iPlayer secured the show it has achieved a significant viewership and online audience. Annika season 2 airs every Wednesday on UKTV throughout September.

They also produce the award-winning queer young audience drama series Float for the BBC, which won Best Series at Series Mania 2022. Series 2 is now in post-production to air in early 2024.

The company co-owns TG Entertainment Ltd which produces the children’s animation series The Brilliant World of Tom Gates which premiered on Sky Kids in 2021, and a second season was released in 2022. Season 3 is currently in production.

Black Camel’s projects for young audiences and children are not represented by All3Media International.
