Big Circus Media, the regional production company co-owned by TV presenter Matt Baker and his former One Show colleague Gareth Collett, has confirmed four Christmas commissions.

The Berkhamsted-based indie, specialising in premium factual entertainment and high-end documentary series, will be producing My Life at Christmas with Anita Rani; Matt Baker: Christmas Travels with Mum and Dad; John Lewis at Christmas and Hotel Chocolat at Christmas.

My Life at Christmas with Anita Rani is coming back to BBC One and iPlayer for a third year running with a new presenter for 2024 – Countryfile and Woman’s Hour presenter, Anita Rani. Following in the footsteps of Sally Phillips and Adrian Chiles, Anita will meet three well-known personalities to discover what makes Christmas special for them, and how it’s been a marker for memorable moments in their careers, family life and faith. Anita’s guests include Dame Sheila Hancock and Rudolph Walker (Patrick Trueman in EastEnders) and TV personality Spencer Matthews.

Matt Baker: Christmas Travels with Mum and Dad, returns to More 4 for 2x 60 min episodes. The Baker family accept an invite to board the Royal Yacht Britannia, getting to see behind the scenes as the ship prepares for the festive season, as well as visiting Edinburgh’s only herd of Highland cattle and the family tartan makers supplying the King. Then in their second seasonal outing, Matt, Mike and Janice visit the coastal village of Robin Hood’s Bay as it prepares for its Christmas festival.

John Lewis at Christmas, is a 1×60 behind- the- scenes documentary for Channel 4 that gives the “inside scoop on this iconic retail chain in the run up to its most exciting and profitable time of year.”

Hotel Chocolat at Christmas, a 1×60 documentary for Channel 4, follows the premium chocolate-makers preparations for the Christmas season.

Matt Baker and Gareth Collett of Big Circus Media, said: “We are delighted to play our part in the great British Christmas TV schedule with seven hours of Christmas programming across BBC One Channel 4 and More 4. We hope they’ll bring some Christmas cheer to everyone watching.”
