The BBC announced today that Dawn Beresford will be joining the BBC as the director of Talent, Commissioning.

She joins from independent producers CPL Productions and Arrow International Media, and has a range of experience across the media industry in roles across talent development, commissioning and production, as well as offering training and consultancy to a wide range of companies and bodies across TV and Radio.

As director of Talent, Beresford will develop and lead plans which drive the strategy for commissioning roles at the BBC, working closely with the Senior creative team, along with Indie Relations, Resourcing and Creative Diversity to support a holistic approach to off-screen talent across the Content group.

She will also work with external partners to support the short and long-term health of skills and culture across the UK’s creative industries.

Charlotte Moore, Chief Content Officer, BBC says: “Dawn brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise and will help us continue to find and nurture the best commissioning teams at the BBC, as well as lead our work with partners across the sector to strengthen our commitment to skills and talent”.

She will join the BBC in mid-October.
