BBC Three’s music entertainment show Tonight with Target has been commissioned for a second series.

Hosted by BBC Radio 1Xtra DJ and The Rap Game UK mentor DJ Target, the weekly series “showcases the most cutting-edge global music performances and celebrity interviews.”

New Wave and Naked (a Fremantle label) have been commissioned to make the 6 x 45 topical run.

DJ Target said: “Tonight with Target is back and I cannot wait!! This series is gonna be epic, with another amazing list of performers and guests showcasing some of the biggest names and highlighting breaking talent that’s emerging. All of this with a live audience and non-stop vibes. Let’s go!”

Mouktar Mohammed, Executive Producer at New Wave, said: “We couldn’t be more excited to bring Tonight with Target back to BBC Three. This season is going to be an even bigger celebration of popular culture with more music, more laughs and even more energy.”

Tom O’Brien, Executive Producer for Naked, added: “Tonight with Target is a sophisticated new take on the live music show, and we are very proud to be co-producing it once again with everyone involved.”

Pinki Chambers and Yasemin Rashit, Commissioning Editors at the BBC said: “We are thrilled to have commissioned Series 2 of Tonight with Target, a distinctive, noisy and fresh format that platforms iconic and emerging talent and entertains young audiences across the UK.”

Tonight with Target (6 x 45’) is made by New Wave and Naked and was commissioned by Fiona Campbell, Controller BBC Three and Kalpna Patel-Knight, Head of Entertainment at the BBC. The Executive Producers for New Wave are Mouktar Mohammed and Henrietta Lee. The Executive Producers for Naked are Tom O’Brien and Gregor Lauder. Trenton Harrison- Lewis is the Executive Producer for 10Eden. Mike Rayment is the Series Producer and Lucy Freestone Flynn is the Line Producer for Naked. The Commissioning Editors for the BBC are Pinki Chambers and Yasemin Rashit.
