Electric Ray has been commissioned to produce a second series of BBC Two’s Britain in Bloom.

The 15 x 30min factual series will follow 15 different communities involved in the annual RHS competition which has been taking place for over 50 years across towns and villages in the UK.

The debut series aired on BBC Two in Spring and visited a variety of communities including seasoned competitors Shrewsbury, Goring and Oakham who were all aiming for Gold as well as a first time entry from Breaston.

Carla-Maria Lawson, BBC Commissioning Editor said: “There is an incredible spirit to Britain in Bloom and the way it brings communities together.  The BBC is delighted to be back in the cities, towns and villages that work so hard to impress the Royal Horticultural Society judges.”

Sony Pictures Television backed Electric Ray will produce the series. Meredith Chambers will be the Executive Producer with Helen White as the Series Editor.

The series was originally commissioned by Dan McGolpin, Controller, Programming and Daytime and Commissioning Editor, Carla-Maria Lawson.

Series two which is currently in production filming the current judging season, will air next year.
