The BBC has confirmed recommissions of three Saturday night BBC1 entertainment shows – Michael McIntyre’s The Wheel, Blankety Blank and The Weakest Link.

Kalpna Patel-Knight, Head of Entertainment at the BBC says: “In Michael, Bradley and Romesh we have three funny titans of Saturday evening TV back on our screens with these fabulous formats from Hungry McBear, Thames and BBC Studios ensuring that both BBC One and BBC iPlayer remain as an undisputed entertainment destination for viewers all across the UK in 2023.”

Full broadcast details for all three series will be confirmed in due course.

Michael McIntyre’s The Wheel (10×60) is a Hungry McBear Media Production for BBC One and BBC iPlayer and was commissioned by Kalpna Patel-Knight, Head of Entertainment at the BBC. The Executive Producers for Hungry McBear Media are Dan Baldwin and Tom Blakeson and the Commissioning Editor for the BBC is Clodagh O’Donoghue.

Produced by Thames, a Fremantle label, Blankety Blank (10 x 35’) was commissioned by Kalpna Patel-Knight, Head of Entertainment at the BBC. The Executive Producer for Thames is Christopher Barbour and the Commissioning Editor for the BBC is Clodagh O’Donoghue.

The Weakest Link, made by BBC Studios Entertainment (12 x 60’), will be back with Romesh Ranganathan at the helm. It was commissioned by Kalpna Patel-Knight, Head of Entertainment at the BBC. The Executive Producers for BBC Studios are Pete Ogden and Gareth Edwards and the Commissioning Editor for the BBC is Neil McCallum.
