The BBC won 13 awards last night at the RTS Programme Awards, including the Channel of the Year Award for BBC Three.
Channel 4 also performed strongly, picking up nine awards at the annual event, held at Grosvenor House Hotel.
BBC’s Three’s Channel of the Year Award was a vindication for the corporation’s decision to move the channel online last year.
Several BBC Three shows won prizes last night. Fleabag writer and star, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, received the Breakthrough Award and also picked up the prize in the Writer – Comedy category.
Asim Chaudhry won the Comedy Performance Award for his role in People Just Do Nothing and the series also won for Scripted Comedy; while the Single Drama award went to BBC Three’s Murdered By My Father.
Meanwhile, BBC1’s Happy Valley picked up the Drama Series award while the show’s writer Sally Wainwright collected the Writer – Drama award. Wainwright also received the Judges’ Award.
For Channel 4, National Treasure won two prizes: Robbie Coltrane received the Actor (Male) award and the drama also won in the Mini-Series category.
Grayson Perry received two awards for C4’s Grayson Perry All Man series, in the Presenter and Arts categories.
The Daytime Programme Award was also won by a C4 show, the well received new format Find It, Fix It, Flog It, produced by HCA Entertainment and Yeti Media, and presented by Henry Cole and Simon O’Brien.
ITV’s Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway won in the Entertainment category; while Emmerdale triumphed for the second year in a row in the competitive Soap and Continuing Drama category.
