BBC Studios has announced the consolidation of its Europe, Middle East and Africa distribution businesses and the appointment of Nick Percy as Executive Vice President, EMEA, both with effect from 1 April.
Percy’s enhanced remit, having formerly been responsible for Western Europe, will give him oversight of BBC Studio’s distribution activities across the expanded region, including responsibility for some of BBC Studio’s biggest content sales clients, an extensive channels portfolio and the region’s consumer products businesses.
Paul Dempsey, President Global Distribution, BBC Studios said, ‘Nick is a highly talented leader with a deep understanding of the market and a great track record. Consolidating our EMEA distribution business under his leadership will simplify our regional approach and make us more agile.’
Nick Percy said, ‘It’s a real privilege to lead this enhanced region. There are opportunities for growth and we have brilliant partners in these important markets. I am looking forward to working with our partners throughout the region to build our businesses together.’
Percy has held a number of positions during his career at the BBC including EVP Northern Europe, VP and General Manager for Central and Eastern Europe and Director of Business Development and Digital. He starts his new role on 1 April and will be based at BBC Studios’ London office.
BBC Studios is in discussions with Grant Welland, currently EVP, CEMA, about a new role within BBC Studios.
