The BBC has confirmed that long running comedy, Gavin and Stacey, is to return for one final episode on Christmas day.

Creators and stars of the show, James Corden and Ruth Jones, confirmed the news on social media with a message saying: “Some news… It’s official!!! We have finished writing the last ever episode of Gavin and Stacey. See you on Christmas Day, BBC One. Love Ruth and James.”

The last outing for the show was the 2019 Christmas special in which Nessa (Jones) proposes to Smithy (Corden) with viewers still waiting for the answer

Gavin and Stacey is coming this Christmas Day on BBC One and iPlayer.
