The BBC has acquired CNN’s new American version of ‘Have I Got News For You’.
CNN’s new 10-part series ‘Have I Got News For You US’ takes a weekly look at the US news coverage.
Produced by Hat Trick Productions for CNN Originals, its premiere episode was filmed in New York last week (on Friday 13th September), and first aired on CNN on Saturday 14th September.
‘Have I Got News For You US’ will air on BBC Two. Each of the ten episodes will air weekly on BBC Two and will be available to stream on BBC iPlayer.
In this new American version of the long running BBC satirical entertainment show, the host is Roy Wood Jr., comedian, Emmy-nominated documentary producer and correspondent for The Daily Show from 2015 – 2023.
Roy is joined by two team captains: writer, comedian and performer Amber Ruffin (Late Night with Seth Myers, The Amber Ruffin Show) and actor, writer and comedian Michael Ian Black (Viva Variety, Michael & Michael Have Issues).
Executive Producers for ‘Have I Got News For You US’ are Jimmy Mulville, Richard Wilson and Jim Biederman.
The BBC have today also confirmed that the new 68th series of the UK original ‘Have I Got News For You’ will air on BBC One from Friday 4th October.
Helen Lewis, staff writer at The Atlantic, will join on the panel for episode 1 of S68, with the guest host to be announced.
