Superindie Argonon, has appointed Joe Weinstock as Chief Executive, Argonon USA, with a remit across Leopard USA, Rose Rock Entertainment and all future group operations in the US including acquisitions.

In a newly created role reporting in to Argonon’s global CEO James Burstall, the development sees Weinstock, who co-founded Rose Rock Entertainment in a joint venture with Argonon in 2022, leading Argonon’s strategic ambitions in the US market as the group continues to scale up its operations with a core focus on the West Coast. James Burstall becomes Executive Chair, Argonon USA, and will work closely with Joe to deliver Argonon’s US growth strategy.

Weinstock continues to lead Rose Rock Entertainment, working from offices in Oklahoma and Los Angeles, and will work closely in his new role with LA-based Leopard USA Chief Creative Officer Lindsay Schwartz and recently appointed Argonon USA Chief Operating Officer Steven McGovern. The group continues to operate from three US bases, with Weinstock also working with the New York team, where long-running HGTV series House Hunters International has its global production base.

Joe Weinstock commented: “We recently completed an extensive series of meetings with US networks and streamers and are encouraged that the American and global creative economy is stirring back to life, offering new opportunities for 2024 and beyond across our labels. I am excited to take on this new role working with the talented teams in Los Angeles and New York, as we look to ramp up our commissions, expand our slate of genres and content, and accelerate Argonon’s growth in the US.”

Argonon CEO James Burstall said: “One of our key strategic aims is rapid expansion of our US business and Joe offers a unique pan-America perspective, based out of Oklahoma in the heart of the USA, but closely networked into commissioners and decision-makers on the West and East Coasts. This is the first appointment of a dedicated CEO for our US business and I look forward to working even more closely with Joe, whose unrelenting drive, creative and commercial acumen and collaborative approach aligns with our ambitions and values. His track record in winning commissions, expertise in finding great stories and characters, and reputation for delivering high quality content makes him ideally placed to partner with our talented teams and lead the group’s growth plans for the US.”

As CEO of Rose Rock Entertainment, Weinstock has created and developed a slate of original programming in the short time since the label’s launch last year. Confirmed commissions include a currently unannounced series in production for a US network and a major one-off event TV show. In addition, Weinstock has several projects in funded development with a range of networks, including lifestyle, docuseries and transformation formats. Rose Rock is based in Oklahoma and Los Angeles.

Argonon’s US labels also include Leopard USA, the producer of regular Top 20 US cable show House Hunters International (HGTV) which has seen over 2,300 episodes commissioned. Recent commissions include La’Ron in a Million (Snap), In with the Old (Magnolia) and Cash in the Attic (HGTV).
