Apple has ordered a full series of Peaky Blinders creator Stephen Knight’s new sci-fi drama See.

Along with Peaky Blinders, Knight has previously scripted Closed Circuit, Dirty Pretty Things, Eastern Promises, Locke and Taboo.

The new show is written by Knight and will be directed by Francis Lawrence who has previously directed the Hunger Games series of films. It’s being made by Chernin Entertainment and Endeavor Content. Deadline Hollywood reported that the series will be exec produced by Knight and Lawrence and well as Peter Chernin, Jenno Topping and Kristen Campo.

It’s the fourth scripted show Apple has picked up for its new TV programming division.  In recent weeks it has ordered a new version of Stephen Spielberg’s Amazing Stories series along with an adaptation of the Kathleen Barber novel, Are You Sleeping, that will star Octavia Spencer and is created and written by Nichelle Tramble Spellman. The series is being produced by Reese Witherspoon’s Hello Sunshine and Chernin/Endeavor Content.

Also on the blocks is a Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon project that will centre around a fictional morning TV show. The pair will star in and exec the series.

Apple has also recently ordered an unscripted 10 parter about Extraordinary Homes and the people that built them.

Apple said last year that it plans to invest $1bn in original content this year.
