Altitude Media Group is to launch of a new division, Altitude Factual, led by natural history and factual exec, Paul Sowerbutts.
Sowerbutts, the former Channel 4 International and Diverse Productions MD, will be md of Altitude Factual. His credits include TOUCHING THE VOID and BEAR GRYLLS – MAN VS WILD. He is also currently Executive Producing Otto Bell’s forthcoming feature THE BAD-ASS LIBRARIANS OF TIMBUKTU.
Sowerbutts is joined by Jeremy Bradshaw (IN THE WILD, SAVING PLANET EARTH and Founder of Tigress Productions) as Head of Natural History.
Altitude Factual will create long-running television series and feature-length documentaries focusing on the natural and human worlds with strong family appeal and continuing the company’s track record in crafting real stories about cultural icons. Altitude’s documentaries to date include AMY, WHITNEY, DIEGO MARADONA, ERIC CLAPTON: LIFE IN 12 BARS, THE EAGLE HUNTRESS, MY SCIENTOLOGY MOVIE, and LIAM GALLAGHER: AS IT WAS.
The launch of Altitude Factual follows 30WEST’s investment in Altitude Media Group and the studio’s production partnership with LA-based Soluble Fish Productions. Off the back of a number of UK and Irish live events Altitude are expanding their Event Cinema operations internationally, beginning with the global One Night Only release of DAVID ATTENBOROUGH: A LIFE ON OUR PLANET on 16 April 2020 in conjunction with WWF and Silverback Films.
