All3Media has acquired the production companies Raw and Betty from Discovery Communications.

Seller Discovery jointly owns All3Media with Liberty. However, Betty and Raw
were managed completely separately from All3 previously.

The new deal means that they will be a part of the All3 federal model, alongside indies such as Lime, Maverick, Lion, Neal Street, Studio Lambert, Objective and New Pictures.

Raw’s credits include Discovery Channel’s Gold Rush. Most recently, Raw produced scripted series Harley and the Davidsons for Discovery Channel.

Betty’s credits include The Undateables, Obsessive Compulsive Cleaners and Bear Grylls: Mission Survive.

Jane Turton, All3Media Chief Executive Officer said: “Acquiring Raw and Betty strengthens our content offering and talent base, in the UK, US and internationally.”

Marc Graboff, President, Global Business & Legal Affairs, Production Management and Studios for Discovery Communications, said: “Since launching our joint venture with All3Media, we have gained an even greater appreciation for the company’s dynamic and creative ecosystem, and we are confident that theirs is the best environment in which to nurture further growth and success for these two outstanding production companies.”

Raw’s founder Dimitri Doganis said: “We’ve enjoyed our relationship with Discovery and very much hope that will continue at the programming level as we look to explore new opportunities and funding models going forward with the team at All3Media.”

Betty joint Managing Directors Neil Smith and Matthew Littleford said: “We can’t wait to join the All3Media family and are excited that we will be working with them to take Betty to the next level.”

Raw and Betty’s programmes will be distributed by All3Media International.
