Absolute has promoted Flame and Nuke Artist, Chris Tobin, to Head of 2D.
Alongside continuing his craft and on-set VFX supervision duties, Tobin will be responsible for spearheading 2D processes, leveraging technology, overseeing the department and nurturing new talent.
Tobin first arrived at Absolute as a work experience student in 2011. In the decade that followed, he has collaborated with talent including Gary Freedman, Andreas Nilsson and Dave Meyers and delivered visual solutions for brands including Ikea, Prada and Range Rover to name a few.
Tobin said: “I’m really excited to contribute towards the ongoing growth of the department and nurture the next gen of 2D talent. I look forward to leaning on my experience and working with the team to push craft to its limits.”
Phil Oldham, Creative Partner, Absolute, adds: “As well as obviously being an insanely talented Artist, Chris instinctively and actively strives for growth. He brings calming, thought-out solutions to both clients and colleagues and I couldn’t think of anyone better to lead the team. I look forward to being a continued witness to his ongoing success.”
