Sky has released the official trailer for upcoming Sky Original series Under Salt Marsh starring Kelly Reilly (Yellowstone, Pride & Prejudice) as Jackie Ellis and Rafe Spall (Trying, Life of Pi) as Detective Eric Bull.
The new crime drama is set in the fictional Welsh town of Morfa Halen.
Created, written and directed by Claire Oakley (Make Up), the six-part series opens as a once-in-a-generation storm rolls in from the sea. Former detective turned teacher Jackie Ellis (Reilly) makes a shocking discovery that reopens the wounds of a three-year-old cold case which cost her both her career and her family’s trust.
Forced to reunite with her estranged police partner Eric Bull (Spall), Jackie is drawn back into an investigation that will shake Morfa Halen to its core. Together, they must confront a community haunted by secrets and fractured by grief, before the incoming storm washes away the evidence forever.
The supporting cast includes Naomi Yang (Chimerica), Jonathan Pryce (The Crown), Dinita Gohil (Treason), Brian Gleeson (Bad Sisters), Kimberley Nixon (Fresh Meat), and Harry Lawtey (Industry).
Additional cast includes Mark Stanley (Happy Valley, The Reckoning), Dino Fetscher (Fool Me Once, Foundation), Lizzie Annis (The Witcher: Blood Origin, Extraordinary), Rhodri Meilir (Pren Ar y Bryn, Craith), and Julian Lewis Jones (House of the Dragon, Wheel of Time).
Under Salt Marsh is produced by Little Door Productions in association with Sky Studios. The production received support from the Welsh Government via Creative Wales. The series is written by Claire Oakley, Jonathan Harbottle (Episodes 3 & 5) and Nikita Lalwani (Episode 4). The lead director is Claire Oakley, with Mary Nighy directing Episodes 3 and 4. The producers are Scott Bassett and Emma Duffy. Executive Producers are Elwen Rowlands for Little Door Productions, Megan Spanjian for Sky Studios, Claire Oakley, and Kelly Reilly.
