Finite Films & TV has appointed Paddy Hughes (BBC’3 Eating with my Ex, C4 & Vinted’s Second Hand Style Up) as Creative Director to support its slate of original branded content.
Hughes is a BAFTA-nominated Director and Producer, and has worked in television, SVOD, digital and commercial content for 20 years, taking pilots and new projects to series commissions for UK and US TV channels including BBC3 and Fullscreen.
Ahead of the vertical drama trend, in 2015 he Series Produced two series of the scripted sitcom Jack&Dean of All Trades for US VOD short form platform Fullscreen, starring YouTube comedy stars Jack Howard and Dean Dobbs with Jessica Hynes (W1A, The Royle Family, Shaun of the Dead). In 2018 he was nominated for a BAFTA for BBC3’s Eating with my Ex, which also won a Broadcast Digital Award.
Hughes has produced and directed factual entertainment, documentaries and scripted programming for leading distributors such as the BBC, ITV, Channel 4, Disney and Sky. He has worked as a producer and director for the likes of Little Dot Studios, Barcroft Studios, Future Studios and Cowshed Collective.
In 2025, Hughes continued to direct and produce branded entertainment for Channel 4, working with Left Bank Pictures, developing a digital drama slate and strategy for the company. He also founded Romalo Film&Creative, a production start-up servicing branded production, YouTube and Film.
Working alongside Finite Films & TV’s founder and executive producer, Amy Gardner, Hughes will oversee and develop original content partnerships with brands, including projects for digital-first platforms.
Earlier this year, Finite Films & TV announced the launch of its unscripted division, with a new original celebrity competition series, Wings & Waves in partnership with global sportswear brand North Sails.
The company’s scripted slate features the psychological horror, The Fears, from Doctor Who director, Andrew Gunn, which is currently in development, and the upcoming drama, Ben & Lucy, starring Steven Cree and directed by Cora Bissett. Finite Films & TV will coproduce the first English-language feature film from director, Anu Menon, Two of Us, with Bright Pictures. The company recently attached writer, Sophia Al-Maria to its TV series The Many Lives of Miss K.
